SALT LAKE CITY — Prosecutors have filed a list of potential witnesses they plan to call in the corruption cases against former Utah attorneys general Mark Shurtleff and John Swallow.

The list of witnesses for a planned preliminary hearing was attached to a response by Salt Lake County prosecutors to Shurtleff’s demand that they get more specific about the allegations leveled against him.Prosecutors did not rule out plans to call more witnesses.

Prosecutors had asked for more time to provide volumes of evidence they claim to have collected against Shurtleff and Swallow.

“Because no arraignment has yet occurred in this case, defendant Shurtleff’s request is premature and should be denied,” deputy Salt Lake County Attorney Chou Chou Collins wrote.

However, they did provide Shurtleff with their list of witnesses, which include campaign workers, employees in the attorney general’s office (including one who is now a judge), political figures, other lawyers and even Shurtleff’s wife.
