SOUTHERN UTAH -- The remnants of tropical storm Norbert has caused severe flooding and torrential rain in southern Utah Tuesday.

The storm system moved up from Arizona and Nevada wreaking havoc as it destroyed roadways, washed away vehicles and stranded homeowners in its wake.

The video above shows a waterfall coming off the ridge above St. George Boulevard. The water eventually flowed down 400 East. The footage was provided by Brandon Vandermyde.

Several parts of Interstate 15 southbound were destroyed because of the flood waters, resulting in stranded motorists on the freeway and in southern Utah.

Access has been opened up for motorists  traveling to Las Vegas, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

Motorists on I-15 can now take exit 93 where they will be directed onto State Route 169 through the Valley of Fire. They will then be brought back around onto southbound I-15, according to a Facebook post from St. George police.

Police ask that motorists take their time and be safe.
