NORFOLK, England – A motorcyclist was wearing a helmet camera when he crashed into a turning car at 97 miles per hour and now his family is releasing the video in hope of raising awareness.

KDVR reported 38-year-old David Holmes was killed on impact but the video from his camera has been recovered.

David’s mother, Brenda, is also in the video the family released begging motorcyclists and drivers to be more attentive on the roads.

“I know [David] rode fast that day, he loved speed but he also loved life,” Brenda said in the video. “I just hope that somebody benefits from the warning, that people slow down and take time to look for bikes.”

According to KDVR, the road where David was killed has a speed limit of 60 miles per hour.

That means David was going almost 40 mph over the speed limit.

However, the driver also involved pleaded guilty to causing David’s death by careless driving.

Officials said the driver is now required to do a year of community service and has an 18-month driving ban.
