Search and rescue crews respond to couple in Little Cottonwood Canyon

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah – Search and rescue crews responded to a couple who became stuck on a ledge in Little Cottonwood Canyon Sunday.

Officials said the couple is believed to be in their 50s or 60s and is stuck somewhere on the mountain near Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.

Salt Lake County Search and Rescue crews have located the couple and a helicopter is going to drop personnel off at the couple’s location. Search and rescue personnel will then help the couple move to another location, where the helicopter will then pick them up.

Officials said the couple was not injured but due to their location they could not get off the mountain on their own.
