Kevin Ward Jr. was killed after crashing during a race and then walking out onto the track while pointing a finger and yelling as cars raced by. NASCAR driver Tony Stewart hit Ward, and the crash was caught on camera. Ward died due to injuries suffered in the crash. The race had slowed for a yellow flag as Ward walked out. See the video above for the footage.

The crash occurred during the Empire Super Sprints series event being held in upstate New York. Ontario County Sheriff Philip C. Povero said the accident occurred on lap 14 of 25 in the race. Povero said Stewart has been cooperative.

“Stewart has fully cooperated” with an investigation, Povero said. “He acknowledges the collision with the driver.”

A spokesman for Stewart stated: "A tragic accident took place last night during a sprint car race in which Tony Stewart was participating,” Mike Arning said. “Tony was unhurt, but a fellow competitor lost his life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Running around at night in a dark suit and black helmet on a race track while drivers try to dodge you? Perhaps Kevin Ward Jr. wasn’t quite ready for prime time.

This guy is a nominee for a 2014 Darwin Award. Hopefully he hadn’t fathered any children and his stupid-gene can go to the grave with him.

In the video you can hear Stewart, a notorious hot head, blip his throttle as he passes in order to make the rear of his car swing out. But regardless of what he TRIED to do, the car’s rear end clearly moves to the left, AWAY from Ward. Ward jumps forward TOWARD Stewart’s car, probably in an attempt to pound the car with his fist. That’s behavior that Stewart is famous for. I think the kid was trying to imitate Stewart.

Regardless of Stewart’s intentions, the result was 100% the fault of Ward’s actions. He had to actually work to get himself hit. Stupid is as stupid does.

I can’t believe how ignorant some people can be. It is clear that Tony Stewart is not at fault in Ward’s death. The proof is in the video. It was a tragic accident! Ward, rest In Peace. Tony, we miss you and are waiting patiently for your return. May God Bless You!!
