SALT LAKE CITY – Dozens of people took to the streets in downtown Salt Lake City Friday to show support for the Kurdish people, who are struggling against ISIS extremists in Iraq.

Those supporters want the U.S. government to support Kurdistan’s regional government in the fight against ISIS.

Majed Mohammad was among those who gathered, and he said President Barack Obama’s recent approval of airstrikes isn’t sufficient.

“Airstrikes is not going to be enough,” he said. “ISIS now is controlling over one-third of Iraqi territories, and that is a big threat, not only to the Kurds or the people living in the region, but it is a big threat to the whole international community.”
