MORGAN, Utah – The Tunnel Hollow Fire burned power poles Thursday, which caused a temporary power outage for about 1,800 customers.

Utah fire officials confirmed that the fire burned the power poles and that crews from Rocky Mountain Power responded.

The outage impacted customers in Mountain Green, Morgan and Enterprise in zip codes 84050 and 84725, according to information from Rocky Mountain Power. About 1,840 customers were without power, but service has since been restored.

Officials said the fire is burning near the Weber River. I-84 remains open in the area but officials said drivers should be cautious as smoke may impact visibility.

The fire is burning on an estimated 1,400 acres and is 20 percent contained. The lightning-caused fire was sparked July 20. About 220 personnel are fighting the fire.
