OAKLEY, Utah – A juvenile suffered critical injuries and three others suffered minor injuries after an accident involving a truck and an all-terrain vehicle Friday.

Sgt. Ron Bridge of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 13 News that one juvenile was flown to a hospital Friday in critical condition; he said Sunday they did not have an update on the victim’s condition but did confirm the child was still alive.

Two of the juveniles were treated and released and the third was taken to a hospital in Park City and was released a short time later.

The juveniles were riding in the ATV in the area of 6500 E. Weber Canyon Road when they attempted to make a left turn at the same time as a truck that had come up behind them. The truck struck the back of the ATV.

Bridge said Sunday the accident remains under investigation and said that, at this point, no citations have been issued. He said the ATV seats four people and can be legally driven on a road as long as it has the correct gear attached, and he said investigators are working to determine if the correct gear was present on the vehicle.
