Man charged with automobile homicide after May 31 crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A man accused in a deadly hit and run crash in Salt Lake City has been formally charged.

Police allege that 44-year-old Porifirio Zamora-Sepulveda may have been impaired when he hit a man who was walking in a parking lot at an apartment complex at 716 N. 900 West on May 31.

The victim was injured in the crash and later died. Police said the suspect may have stopped for a minute before leaving the scene of the crash.

The suspect has been charged with automobile homicide, failure to remain at the scene of an accident and also has a charge relating to not having a valid license.
