MAGNA, Utah — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the man who was hit and killed on S.R. 201 in Magna early Wednesday morning.
Burt J. Maez, 46, was walking next to the westbound lanes of S.R. 201 near 9000 W around 2 a.m. when he was struck by the right front corner of a vehicle.
According to a statement from the Department of Public Safety, that area of S.R. 201 is part of a construction zone and traffic is reduced to one lane.
Maez wasn’t carrying identification, the DPS statement said, but officials were able to identify him through his tattoos.
