SALT LAKE CITY -- Big Budah's right-hand man suffered an elbow injury when he was knocked to the ground during a live segment on "Good Day Utah" Friday morning.

It happened while Budah and John Diaz, his photographer/field producer, were in the middle of a segment with The Salt City Derby Girls .  As you can see on the video above, the roller derby team was skating around a rink when one of the team members shoved a teammate, who then careened straight into Diaz.  (Roller derby is a contact sport and the shoving shown in the segment was a demonstration of the body contact that commonly happens between opponents.)

"John is a trooper, he has a puncture in his elbow protecting the camera when he took a hit from #saltcityderbygirls," Big Budah wrote as a caption on a photo (below) that he posted to Instagram.

Diaz didn't let the injury stop him from finishing his work on Friday morning's "Good Day Utah" newscast.  He went on to shoot six more segments for the show before seeking medical care.
