SALT LAKE CITY -- Officials have identified a woman who was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 215 Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Kirsten K. Procter, was traveling north on I-215 east at 4100 South.

At the time of the crash there were two prior crashes at that location causing backup on the freeway.

Procter got into the traffic. Police say she over corrected and rolled to the right and ended up on the east side of the freeway.

Two dogs were in the car with Procter and were taken to animal control.

The accident shut down the freeway for a few hours, diverting northbound traffic at the 6200 South exit.
