COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah — Cottonwood Heights police have located a 12-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday.

Stevie Rae Shane was found at a friend’s residence in Cottonwood Heights, police said Monday afternoon.

Police say the friend didn’t know Stevie was a runaway.

Stevie was found in good health and is currently at the Juvenile Receiving Center in South Salt Lake.

The center usually takes in ungovernable or runaway kids, police said.

Police say Stevie has a history of running away, but she usually returns after 8 to 10 hours.
