SALT LAKE CITY – The Department of Workforce Services is offering $6 million in grants for education in science, technology, engineering and math to Utah schools.

The StemLink Partnership is aimed at improving STEM education in the state, and it’s a joint effort by the Department of Workforce Services, STEM Action Center and the Utah State Office of Education.

Jon Pierpont, executive director Department of Workforce Services, said the grants are an investment in society’s future.

“Utah’s economy is leading the nation, and so it begs the question of: What’s next?” he said. “And we believe, as we look at our data, that Workforce Services investing in STEM and focusing our kids in STEM related activities is preparing the workforce for the future.”
