Officials report earthquake that was felt in Salt Lake Valley

SALT LAKE CITY — The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.2 earthquake that was felt in the Salt Lake Valley Saturday night.

The incident occurred at about 9:23 p.m., and a follow up press release form the USGS stated the earthquake occurred about 4 miles northeast of Tooele.

According to information from the University of Utah Seismograph Stations website, the earthquake was 5 miles ESE of Erda, 5 miles NE of Tooele, 6 miles SE of Stansbury Park, 11 miles SW of Magna and 21 miles SW of Salt Lake City.

The U of U site also lists the earthquake as a 3.2 magnitude, click here for their report on the seismic activity.

It was not immediately clear if damages or injuries were caused by the shaking.
