PLEASANT GROVE -- The Utah Medical Examiner began performing autopsies Tuesday on several babies found dead in a Pleasant Grove home.

Megan Huntsman, 39, was arrested on six counts of murder after police discovered the bodies of seven infants in the home’s garage. One of the baby’s was reportedly stillborn.
The babies were born between 1996 to 2006. According to court documents Huntsman admitted to strangling or suffocating the babies after they were born.
As the family tries to heal and search for answers many are wondering how Huntsman was able to conceal her pregnancies.
“She hid her first two pregnancies and the family didn’t know her two oldest daughters until she was in the hospital delivering those two babies,” said Capt. Dan Roberts with Pleasant Grove Police.
A source close to the family said Huntsman was not kicked out of the Pleasant Grove home in 2011 because of alcoholism, but because she cheated on her husband Darren West who was serving time in federal prison on a drug conviction.
“There could be one father, there could be many – we just don’t know until we get the DNA tests,” Roberts said.
Autopsies on five of the seven corpses have been completed. Roberts was told one of infants was female.
Huntsman has been living with her boyfriend in West Valley City.
A neighbor said Huntsman miscarried a child about a year ago.
“She was upset like any other mother would be,” said West Valley City neighbor Josh Flowers.
Flowers said Huntsman was upbeat in the last few months after news she was going to be a grandmother.
