No fire at Vernal hospital, officials clarify

VERNAL –Vernal hospital spokeswoman clarified that there was no fire at Ashley Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon.

Spokeswoman Debbie Stafford said a transformer blew outside the building causing something to go wrong in an electrical control panel inside.

There was smoke but no flames, Stafford said.

The hospital, located at 150 W. 100 North, was not damaged and there were no evacuations.
