OREM — An Orem massage parlor owner and employee were booked into jail Monday on charges of sexual solicitation at their business, officials said Tuesday.

The illegal practices were first discovered in January when a friend of an Orem Police detective went to Spring Spa, 386 E. 720 South for a legitimate massage, police said.

While getting the massage the masseuse reportedly touched the man’s genitals and asked, “Do you want this?”

The man said no, left and reported it to the Orem detective.

During investigation it was discovered that Spring Massage had a link on backpage.com. The massage parlor also had a valid business license from Orem City since December 2013 for pressure point foot massages.

During the investigation an undercover detective set up an appointment for a massage.

On the first appointment the detective reportedly received a regular massage with nothing more offered. On a second visit however, after a 40-minute session the masseuse stopped asked if the detective wanted more, attempting to touch his genitals and discussed a price, police said.

A search warrant was served at the business Monday afternoon where the business owner, Annong Zhao, 55, and employee Hong Zhang, 46, were booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of sexual solicitation and unlawful conduct/massage practice.
