SALT LAKE CITY -- A man was taken into custody after he allegedly broke into a steel fabrication shop and got stuck while hiding from police Tuesday.

It happened at the Mark Steel Corporation near 1200 West and 200 South.

According to police, the suspect broke into the warehouse and tried to hide from police by climbing up several stories. When police finally located the suspect on a beam, they thought he may have been electrocuted because he wasn't responding and he was surrounded by electrical wires.

Officers were able to get the suspect down safely, and medics said he wasn't injured at all.

"He just doesn't want to visit with us, doesn't want to even respond to us when we [ask], 'hey, are you OK?'" Salt Lake City Police Lt. Scott White said. "So we certainly think he's injured, and come to find out he's not. He just doesn't want to cooperate with us."

The 34-year-old suspect was taken into custody to be questioned. He faces charges of burglary and trespassing.
