Police seek help locating suspects in string of armed robberies

OREM, Utah – Orem police are asking for the public’s help finding three suspects who have allegedly carried out multiple armed robberies.

Police officials said the suspects have targeted two businesses in the last 30 days: El Centro Market in Orem was robbed twice and the La Pequenita Market was robbed this week.

Surveillance image from one of the robberies at El Centro show two men armed with firearms entering the store, taking cash and getting away.

Lt. Craig Martinez of the Orem Police Department said that in the robbery at La Pequenita, three men were involved and one allegedly injured the store owner during the crime.

“One of the men struck him in the back of the head with what we believe is the gun,” Martinez said. “He got knocked unconscious and treated by our paramedics and transported with a large laceration to his head.”

Police the suspects are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s and weigh between 130 and 160 pounds. The suspects speak English and Spanish well, and officials said they are targeting Hispanic businesses and markets during evening horus.
