SALT LAKE CITY– When the Jazz needed him most, rookie point guard Trey Burke delivered.

He overcame a sub-par overall shooting performance to score eight of Utah’s last 15 points, including a game-winning three with less than two seconds left, as the Jazz beat the Magic 89-88 on Saturday night.

While the win isn’t going to be enough to launch the Jazz into playoff contention, it was nice to end a six-game losing streak on the night that the organization paid tribute to the franchise’s first playoff team, 30 years ago.

Richard Jefferson scored 17 points in the first quarter, a new single-quarter personal record, finishing with 21. Derrick Favors had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Enes Kanter added 11 and 11.

The Jazz host the Pistons on Monday.
