CASTLE DALE — The so-called goblin topplers have taken a plea deal to avoid felony convictions during a court appearance Tuesday in Castle Dale.

FOX 13’s Gene Kennedy is reporting live from the courtroom.

Glenn Taylor and Dave Hall have pleaded to a class A misdemeanor.

The two men will not serve jail time but are being processed at the Emery County Jail as part of their plea in abeyance.

Prosecutors say they’re close to determining what restitution could be for their actions.

The two former Boy Scout leaders damaged an ancient rock formation in Goblin Valley last October.

Taylor was charged with criminal mischief and Hall with aiding and assisting criminal mischief, originally third-degree felonies.
