Students put tech to the test in robotics competition

WEST VALLEY CITY – Some high-tech robots are being put through their paces in West Valley City Thursday through Saturday, and the event is a contest for students.

The Maverik Center is playing host to Utah’s FIRST Robotics Competition, and 48 teams from western regional schools are facing off in an event called aerial assist—which is a bit like basketball and soccer combined but played with robots.
