FARMINGTON, Utah – A man was taken to a hospital in serious condition after he fell from an overpass onto I-15 while jogging Monday morning.

Chief Wayne Hansen of the Farmington Police Department confirmed to FOX 13 News that the man, believed to be in his 50s, had fallen about 40 feet from the overpass at Glovers Lane and I-15.

Hansen said the man was taken to a hospital in serious condition after the incident, which occurred around 5:20 a.m., but as of about 1 p.m. he did not know the man’s current condition.

The incident appears to be an accident caused by uncertain footing, and officials said the man was able to call 911 for assistance after he fell.

The name of the victim has not been released.

FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
