WEBER COUNTY, Utah – Search and rescue crews were dispatched to the Monte Cristo area in Weber County after a group of snowmobilers reported that a member of their party did not return as expected.

Crews were sent out sometime around 3:30 p.m., but by just before 5 p.m. officials said the missing snowmobiler had returned safely.

Sgt. Findlay of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said three people in a party of four snowmobilers were on their way back to their vehicles when they noticed the fourth person, who was bringing up the rear, was not behind them.

The group searched near their vehicles and checked at a nearby recreation shop, but they were unable to find their companion. They then called authorities, and search and rescue crews were dispatched to assess the situation.
