Research: 25% of couples say cell phones have negative impact on their relationship

The Pew Research Center just completed a study on the positive and negative impacts of technology on relationships.

The new report said among the quarter of committed couples who say the internet has impacted their relationship, the majority pointed to a positive impact.

But it’s not all good news.

Some technology has been seen as a negative source of distraction– particularly smartphones. According to Pew, “25% of cell owners in serious relationships say the phone distracts their spouse or partner when they are alone together.”
