DAQ forecasts poor air Sunday, Monday

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake and Davis Counties are looking at another few days of dirty air.

The air quality is expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups. Mandatory action is needed to combat the pollution, according to the Department of Air Quality.

Solid fuel burning devices must not be used. According to theDAQ websiteopen burning is not allowed. Utahns are asked to consolidate trips in their vehicles and industry should optimize operating conditions to minimize air pollution emissions.

More than 5,000 protestors gathered on the steps of the capitol Saturday to demand clean air action in the state.
