HOLLADAY, Utah -- Several packages were taken from the front porch of a Holladay family last Friday. Some had Christmas presents inside, others had material for a new home the Hardy family is building.

The suspects were caught on camera.

"My wife came home and said 'hey, where's the packages that were delivered today,'" said Lyle Hardy.

In two minutes, a man and a woman take eight packages as seen on a home surveillance video.

"It was about five thousand dollars worth of stuff," Hardy said.

Police say the holidays are a prime time for crimes of opportunity.

"We would always recommend that people track their package, be aware of when they are going to come, so they can either be home to collect them, or ask a trusted neighbor or family member or friend to pick those up," said Lt. Justin Hoyal, Unified Police Department. "You can also check with the delivery company to see what options they have about storing them at their business and then picking them up from there."

In this case, the Hardy's were tracking their packages online and said they had only been on the front porch for about an hour.
