SALT LAKE CITY -- A bunch of local moms decided to take some time for themselves and hit the ski lift at Snowbird.

It’s something they do once a week in wintertime, and they even have a group name--- "The SkiMums"

“Most of us literally drop off our kids in the carpool line with our skis in the back and ride up here and we are on the first lift,” said group leader Paula Colman.

It's a meet-up group for moms looking to carve out some time for themselves. They came up with the idea about a year ago, and then it kind of snowballed from there.

“I am so happy when I come home. I don't care what else I got done today, I had a great day,” SkiMum Valerie Winwood said.

They get together every Wednesday at Snowbird and spend just a couple of hours on the slopes before their kids get home from school.

“It's been a positive experience all around,” Colman said. “Now the laundry may not get done, and dinner might be a little skimpy on Wednesdays, but other than that it's been great.”

The SkiMums are always looking for new members. You can follow their blog by clicking here.
