PULLMAN, Wash. — Utah will not go to a bowl game for the second year in a row after losing 49-37 to Washington State Saturday.

The Utes could not stop Connor Halliday. The Washington State quarterback threw for 488 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Cougars to the win.

The Utes got off to a terrible start. Quarterback Adam Schulz threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns in the first quarter, helping the Cougars jump out to a 21-0 lead.  Schulz did bounce back, throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns in his second career start.

The Utes have now lost five games in a row after upsetting Stanford.

The Utes will end the season next Saturday against Colorado.
