LOGAN, Utah—Buses in the Cache Valley area just got a new paint job courtesy of some young students.

The buses were painted by third grade students at a Smithfield elementary school, and for many of them it’s their first chance to see their art published for the public to see.

They drew things like fish and flowers, and the art lines the walls above the handrails on the buses. Annika Erickson was one of the students involved.

“I imagined I had a garden that was filled with daisies... all sorts of daisies,” she said.

Troy Pugmire is the principal at Summit Elementary School, and he said it was a great opportunity for the students.

“Their excitement for the classroom in other areas has also increased as they found success in art,” he said.

The project began in January, and children created the art during a 15-week period. The art is displayed on six other city transit buses.
