MIDVALE, Utah -- Fire crews responded to a two-alarm house fire in Midvale Friday morning.

Unified Fire Authority officials said the fire started in a home at 425 East 7670 South around 5:45 a.m.

Four people and several pets were safely evacuated from the home before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

When crews arrived on scene, they were able to aggressively attack the blaze and quickly get it under control.

Fire crews are now investigating the cause of the fire and trying to figure out what the damage estimate is. They said the fire began in a bedroom.

Hannah was one of those in the home, and she said they alerted others to the fire.

"We went downstairs to get a drink, and we were there for like 10 to 15 minutes and then we hear a thud, and we start walking upstairs and there's a like 10 pounds of smoke blowing out of mom's bedroom, and we run downstairs screaming and wake up everybody to tell them to get out of the house and that there's a fire," she said.

Officials with the Red Cross are working to find the family a place to stay for the next few days.
