LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State University Aggies defeated Hawaii 47-10 Saturday, and Utah State’s quarterback set a new school record for freshman.

According to a press release from Utah State University, Quarterback Darrel Garrettson’s  370 yards sets a new school record for passing yards by a freshman.

Garretson was 28 for 41, according to the release, and his 370 yards were the most put up by any Aggie’s quarterback this season. The team combined for 533 yards of total offense.

Senior Joey DeMartino accounted for 104 of the team’s 163 rushing yards.

Hawaii arrived in Utah later than expected, as their travel was delayed by the shooting at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Utah State improved to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Mountain West Conference after Saturday’s win. Hawaii fell to 0-8 overall and 0-6 in the Mountain West Conference.
