This week was kind of a Yin and Yang, good and bad, up and down week. I was able to drive and ride in my uncle’s Razor all-terrain vehicle (I didn’t fit in it before the procedure). With all the energy I have, I checked power washing a giant blow up slide off of my list of accomplishments.

Now as far as my exercise regimen, first: the good. For starters, I really worked hard this week at the gym doing a mile on the treadmill, a mile on the bike, and wind sprints for my daily workouts. I also started playing full court basketball weekly, and I even tried some jiujitsu.

Now for the bad. I have a bad heel bone spur that flares up every time I work out really hard, especially when I do a lot of running. In order to combat the pain I have to ice it down for 30 to 45 minutes.

Big props to Dr. Cottam for his work on my behalf, as well as to Dr. Richards, BMI Utah, FOX 13 News, and Salt Lake Regional Hospital: Thank you for my new life, without you I wouldn’t be able to work out to even have my heel flare up and for that I am grateful. Many alohas to the viewers for all the support and encouragement.

My goal is to be under 300 pounds by my one-year anniversary, which is on Feb. 2. Before my first consultation at BMI I weighed 450 pounds. I was told that I had to lose some weight first to show that I have the ability to lose weight.

I weighed in at 440 pounds for the procedure, but I am currently at 328 pounds—that’s a total of 122 pounds lost, and I am 29 pounds away from being under 300 pounds for the first time in more than 13 years. Here we go!
