I had some tough moments this week with the passing of my cousin Audrey. I was unable to attend her services due to my commitment to my children’s activities. R.I.P. Cuz.
In the past, this would mean sitting around with a big box of donuts and some koko Samoa reminiscing about the old days. It was good to easily say no to doughnuts. I also had the opportunity to cherish the memory of another cousin, Em, who lost her battle with lupus years ago.
We had a fundraiser in her honor through a family team to raise funds that will go toward finding a cure for lupus. I got to spend some time with the cousins and my nephew, Dice.
I was out running for my workout when it started to rain. I could have easily stopped, as I have done so many times before, but I was able to push through and finish. I took to the track, where I would walk 100 meters then run 100 meters for a mile. Then I would run the steps and then cool down.
This week I will start to play basketball in order to add more fun cardio to my routine. Props to Doctor Cottam, Doctor Richards, BMI Utah, Salt Lake Regional Hospital, FOX 13 News, my family, my friends, and all of you who have shown your support and helped push me along.
