Oktoberfest comes to a close at Snowbird
SNOWBIRD, Utah – Oktoberfest entered its final weekend at Snowbird, and the annual event was a favorite for those who love German beer, cuisine and entertainment.
This year, Oktoberfest was extended for an additional weekend, and the event offered a wider base of activities—as event organizers set up a second stage for more mainstream American music and brought in more food options to supplement the menu.
John Collins is the director of mountain activities at Snowbird, and he said the festival has kept them busy.
“Normally, in the old days, the shoulder seasons were pretty slow,” he said. “But with Oktoberfest we’re bringing in lots of folks per weekend, and they’re all up here having a great time.”
Final numbers have yet to be calculated, but event organizers estimated more than 60,000 people visited during the nine weekends the celebration was held.
