SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah football pulled up a big upset Saturday, beating 5th ranked Stanford 27-21 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

It’s the biggest Pac-12 win for Kyle Whittingham and the Utes. FOX 13 News' Scott McKane spoke with several Utah players after the game, see the video above for those interviews.

The Utes held off a late Stanford rally.  The Cardinals cut the Utah lead to six on a touchdown pass from Kevin Hogan to Devon Cajuste with 9:22 to play. Stanford moved the ball down to Utah’s six yard line on their next drive, but the Utes held them on fourth down to seal the victory.

Utah quarterback Travis Wilson bounced back after throwing six interceptions last week.  He completed 23 of his 34 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He did throw one interception, but the Utah defense forced a turnover on Stanford’s next drive.

Dres Anderson also had a big game for the Utes. His 51-yard touchdown catch tied the game at 14-14 in the first quarter, and his touchdown run in the second quarter put the Utes up 21-14.

Running back Bubba Poole ran for 111 yards on 22 carries.

The Utes won the turnover battle. They forced two fumbles in the second half that led to field goals from Andy Phillips.

Utah is now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in Pac-12 play.
