Big Budah’s blog: Accolades and appetites

I was extremely honored and humbled to have been named the Media Representative of The Year by the Utah Developmental Disabilities Council. I count myself lucky to be numbered among the others who were recognized for attempting to affect change in our community. Thank You.

I, along with some of my extended family, went out to eat, and I thought I might be in trouble. At first thought I was not sure how I would be at Tucanos, which is an all you can eat Brazilian BBQ…this is the first all you can eat restaurant I have been to since my procedure. Surprisingly, I did well and had no difficulties. I did make sure to stay away from the beans and rice.

This week at work has been tough with food all around, featuring Filling & Emulsions, which is a new pastry shop, and the Downtown Dine O’Round. But again, I am happy to say that I was able to stay strong. In all honesty, I didn’t even have a craving or desire to indulge.

Not having any cravings is a direct result of my operation, and I cannot thank those who are responsible enough: my family for changing with me, FOX13, BMI, Salt Lake Regional and Doctors Cottam & Richards and of course all of you who have offered me your support. It means a great deal, and I’m grateful.
