SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah -- A new campaign is being rolled out in Salt Lake County to increase the amount of recycling.

Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams is challenging residents to recycle about 20 percent throughout the next two years.

"We have all of the tools in place," McAdams said. "You've got curbside pick-up in every city throughout Salt Lake County, it's easy to do. It's just a matter of making a decision to instead of putting something in the trash to put it in a recycling bin."

McAdams said the recycling challenge will help taxpayers save money and improve the environment.
