MIDVALE, Utah -- Unified Police are investigating after a large amount of cash was found on the side of a road back in April.

According to police, a resident was driving through Midvale and noticed a package on the side of the road. The resident stopped and opened the package and found it was full of cash. Lt. Justin Hoyal said the money was then turned in to the Unified Police Department.

"They found this money on the side of the road, picked it up and contacted police right away," he said.

Officers have not disclosed the exact amount of cash found, but they said it is thousands of dollars.

Police said as of Monday, no one has came forward to claim the cash. They said if anyone has lost the money and can describe the package, the exact location it was lost and the amount of money, they can contact UPD at (801) 743-5818.
