SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – A man is in critical condition and a woman has been arrested for DUI after a rollover accident Sunday night.

Dawn Lynn Grochowski, 51, was driving on Communication Road on Lake Mountain when she lost control of the Jeep she was driving while on a switchback.

According to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene at about 5:39 p.m.  The SUV had rolled several times and fallen down a steep, rocky embankment. The vehicle landed about 50 feet below the road on a lower switchback.

There were two males and two females in the vehicle. None of the passengers were ejected from the open-top Jeep, but one occupant, 36-year-old Trevor Nielson of Saratoga Springs, suffered severe head injuries and did not regain consciousness.

Nielson was taken by an AirMed helicopter to University of Utah Hospital. According to the release, the victim is in the ICU in extremely critical condition.

Investigators found evidence at the scene that indicated the people in the vehicle had been drinking alcohol, and the driver told authorities she had been consuming alcohol. Other passengers said they had also consumed alcohol.

Grochowski was taken by ambulance to American Fork Hospital and treated for minor scrapes and abrasions. She was released and then arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on a charge of DUI-injury, which is a class A misdemeanor.
