DAVIS COUNTY, Utah -- Tooele County has discussedbanning e-cigarettes in public places, and now Davis County is considering e-cigarette regulation as well.

Davis County officials are trying to research the effects of vaporizers, after claims that e-cigarettes might contain toxic chemicals.

It all started with state legislators who recently added e-cigarettes to the Utah Indoor Clean Air Act, making it illegal to use the products in any public establishment.

Davis County's Board of Health watched a presentation Tuesday on the local research being done on e-cigarettes. After some consideration, the board recognized a few areas they want to move forward with in regulating, such as labeling, child-proof caps and preventing sale to minors.

Board of Health members said they will continue to wait for federal regulations and studies on e-cigarettes to back up further regulations in Davis County.
