SALT LAKE CITY -- Volunteers are being sought in the remodel of a new refugee charter school that’s slated to open later this month.

The school will cater to immigrants and refugees that have recently relocated to Utah. It is scheduled to open Aug. 21.

The Utah International Charter School is a public school for seventh through 12th graders. One hundred students will attend the first year but the hope is to have a student body of 400.

The school is unique in that it is the first charter school that is working with the international network.

To assist in the remodel of the facility contact Aaron Metalfe at 801-851-7000 ext. 274 or on his cell phone at 801-870-9974.
