KANE COUNTY — A California man was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Kane County.
Chet F. DeVito, 70, of Anaheim Hills, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 89 on a Harley Davidson when he failed to manage a curve and rolled his motorcycle. Utah Highway Patrol officials believe excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
A passing motorist called in the accident, a short time after it took place. There were no witnesses, according to a UHP press release.
DeVito was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash, officials said.
A helmet was found in the debris but the chin strap was tightened making it impossible to be worn at the time of the accident, according to the release.
