Man charged with murder in connection with fatal shooting at an SLC Maverik

SALT LAKE CITY —  A man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 19-year-old who was shot outside a gas station in April.

Vilisoni Angilau is accused of gunning down 19-year-old Sione Fakatoufifita outside of a Maverik gas station located along Redwood Road.

Police said the suspect allegedly chased the victim through a Glendale neighborhood before killing him. Police said they believe both men had ties to gangs.
