Driver was on phone when Spain train derailed

The data recorders from a deadly train derailment in Spain show the driver was on the phone with railway staff at the time of the wreck that killed 79 people.

The recorders also show the train was going about 95 miles per hour when it derailed July 24.

The speed limit for the bend of the track where the crash occurred is 49 miles per hour.

The driver is charged with 79 counts of reckless homicide. About 70 others injured in the crash remain hospitalized.

A missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a passenger on the train.Elder Stephen Ward, 18, of Bountiful sustained head and neck injuries in the crash.
