SALT LAKE CITY – Their motto was “Let Z be,” and they were protesting in support of  George Zimmerman, who was recently acquitted in the murder of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

About four people met at the Wallace Bennett Federal Building in downtown Salt Lake City Saturday, and they said George Zimmerman is the subject of a witch hunt put on by President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.

Scott was one protester at the event, and he said Zimmerman was a good guy trying to do a good thing.

“He’s just out there trying to do a good job, but because there are people stuck in the past and they thought because he was white they want to paint him as a racist, but the evidence said there was no racism; he was just a good guy out there trying to do a good thing,” he said.

Last week, a couple of dozen protesters were in the same spot to demonstrate their support for Martin, and those individuals said Martin’s family was denied justice when Zimmerman was found not guilty.
