A group of Utah filmmakers have produced a video to raise awareness of the dangers of vehicular heatstroke.

"One Decision" portrays the potential consequences of leaving a child in a hot car for a few minutes.

"We made this film in hopes to prevent child injuries or death. Every 10 days a child dies from vehicular heatstroke," the video's YouTube description says.

Scott Stowers, one of the writers of "One Decision," said vehicular heat stroke prevention is not just the responsibility of parents.

"Those brief minutes that we could've done something can make the difference between life and death for a child," Stowers said. "That's a lot of the main purpose of this video, is to just make people want to help and to do something. To act when they see something like this going on."

So far this year, 19 U.S. children have died from vehicular heat stroke.

None of those cases occurred in Utah.
