Plane lands, passengers evacuate due to suspicious package

PHOENIX – A Southwest Airlines jet was diverted to Phoenix and passengers were evacuated after the pilot was made aware of a security concern.

Flight 2675 departed from Los Angeles Monday and was heading for Austin, but the plane was landed after there were reports of a suspicious package aboard.

The plane landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and all 143 passengers were evacuated. Passengers were sent on to their destinations, and authorities are investigating the incident.
