SALT LAKE CITY – More than 1,000 friends and family members of children with special needs filled a park in Lehi Saturday for the annual Walk With Angels.

The 4th annual Walk With Angels was held at Margaret Wines Park. The walk is designed to raise awareness for families who have children with special needs or disabilities and to encourage acceptance and inclusion for everyone.

The event raises funds for the United Angels Foundation and support programs. The United Angels Foundation began in 2008 with a mission to provide a support system to families that discover they have a child with special needs.

Mark Leck, United Angels Foundation founder, said the support means a great deal to everyone involved.

“At this event, just these families coming together in support of this child who has special needs is the most amazing part of the entire event and something that I think most of the parents enjoy coming out for,” he said.

The walk featured individuals with special needs aged 6 months to 30 years old. For more information about the foundation, visit their website.
